Brightly Twisted Grand Opening

Friday night, we went to a grand opening at the Dancing Eye Gallery in Northville, MI. Adam’s kindergarten teacher, Ms Tammy, and Aaron’s kindergarten teacher, Mr Greg, have launched a tie dye business called Brightly Twisted. At the time of this writing, they have a website, an online store, and a blog, run by Tammy’s daughter, Kaitlyn. I am proud to say that the blog was my idea!

Tammy left DHMC a couple of years ago, but we’ve been corresponding via email for months. She was a great teacher and school administrator, and she’s become a very good online friend of mine. It was really great to see her in person again; doesn’t she look great?

As you can see from the websites, their stuff is, well, brightly twisted! Apparently, this business of theirs has really grown in the last couple of years, but like any home run business, it has taken lots of patience, sacrifice and especially energy. They have concentrated mostly on the summer fair circuit, but have finally ventured online, and now have an exposure in a retail outlet, Dancing Eye Gallery. We were honored to attend their grand debut. There were lots of people there, and they were serving wine, showing their products, and made lots of sales. We picked out some stuff for ourselves, and as gifts for some unsuspecting readers of our blog. I sometimes felt like we were in a movie scene, you know, where the rich folks are walking around admiring the fancy art(and this is definitely art) and acquiring selected works. I felt like we were big shots, schmoozing with the main ‘artistes’.

Here is me, Tammy, and Adam(Aaron was the noted fashion photographer):
