After more than a year of effort, I finally got to the point where I could install the rear wheels on the frame. The rear suspension is fully assembled, including air bags. The bags are not yet plumbed for an air supply, so that is why the frame is sitting on the bump stops. This is the low rider position \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because the lighting in my garage is not uniform, I needed to spin the frame around before I tackled the front suspension. Up until today, that meant asking Aaron to come out to the garage so that they and I could pick up the frame and turn it around by hand. Today, however, I was able to move it myself, so I asked them to record the milestone on video. I spared you the awkward 3-point U-turn I needed do perform within the confines of my driveway, something I won’t be able to do when all four wheels are on the car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a later post, I will share details of the front and rear suspensions, but you can already see the new stainless-steel brake and fuel lines. Before it goes under the body, I will wash it and take nicer photos; you may be able to see that it’s a bit dusty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
