I recently wrote <\/a>about taking a special picture while Cyndi and were camping at Wilderness State Park<\/a>. In this post, I’ll share some photos of the campground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is Big Stone Cabin, one of six available. It is set at about a mile away from the neighboring cabins, and just about as far away from the main campground. The main campground has running water, showers, etc, but as I mentioned in the previous post, our cabin had only a vault toilet and hand pump(for water) behind the camera. It does have 4 bunk beds, a wood fired stove(winter use only), a fireplace, picnic table, and a view that I’ll get to later.<\/p>\n\n\n

The park sits on the shore of Lake Michigan, just southeast of the Straits of Mackinac, where the bridge in the previous post is located. We had a nice, private path from our cabin to the shore:<\/p>\n\n\n

What I love about this cabin is how isolated it is from anything and anybody else. The only people we could spot were far to the east, and only then when using binoculars.<\/p>\n\n\n

Getting up early one morning, we were treated to a spectacular sunrise:<\/p>\n\n\n

After spending the day on Mackinac Island(which will be the subject of another post), we stopped at Mackinaw Beach 1, just north of the campground, and enjoyed the sunset<\/p>\n\n\n
